The Processions

The night Processions during the Holy week that precedes Easter, follow the local religious tradition that exists from centuries.
There are three different brothers companies: Company San Antonio, dressed in white, Company Buona Morte, dressed in black, and Jesus Company dressed in blue. All the brothers community born between the XVI and the XVII century.
The parade provides a show that recreates the Passion of Christ along all the city roads. Every night of the week there will be a different act: on Holy Tuesday there is the procession with “Jesus in the Olives Grave”, Wednesday “Jesus bound to the column”, Thursday night, only during even years, at the Cipressi Theater, the most popular episode of Jesus Christ’s passion that ended with his Crucifixion.
On Holy Friday there is the procession all along the city centre ways and on Saturday night there will be the last act while there is the celebration of the Holy function, where Christian’s souls celebrate the Resurrection with a suggestive ceremony.
Every two years, on Holy Thursday and Easter Sunday, the citizens live the Passion of Christ in Piazzale Garibaldi through a sacred representation of the event.
