“Cake Caramelized” Agriturismo “Mulino Vecchio del Cilone”

Le Ricette

Pastry ingredients:
g. 120 of sugar
g.120 of butter
g. 300 of flour
1 egg and 1 egg yolk
grated zest of half a lemon and its juice
half a teaspoon of baking powder

For the caramel ingredients:
1 knob of butter
g. 250 of sugar
half a glass of vin santo “Mulino Vecchio del Cilone”
g. 100 whole almonds
g.100 of hazelnuts
g. 100 of whole pine nuts

Preparation:
Prepare the pastry by mixing a roll of sugar, eggs, butter, zest and lemon juice and finally the flour with the baking powder.
Knead until it forms a smooth ball, wrap it in a drape riposara and leave in the fridge for half an ‘hour.

For the caramel dissolve the sugar with the butter and vin santo, when it begins to foam, pour the nuts, mix well and remove from heat.
Roll out the dough into a loaf cake, prick the dough and bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes then remove from oven and pour the caramel over the pasta and finish cooking for another 20 minutes.

Allow to cool, and serve ….. enjoy!
